Advances on screening of Cd low-accumulation crops and its intercropping with hyperaccumulator

It is serious for cadmium pollution in China’s agricultural land， which have been given attention by the government and many researchers due to huge potential security problems of crop production. Under the premise of ensuring crops safety production and improving agricultural ecological environment， the screening and popularizing of Cd low-accumulation crops and applying phytoremediation technology are the urgent need for agricultural efficiency， safety and sustainable development in China. In this paper， the current farmland soil cadmium pollution situation in our country was summarized， and the research significance of Cd low-accumulation crops and screening progress was discussed. Meanwhile， the cadmium hyperaccumulation plants screening work was reported. Subsequently， the application status on intercropping for Cd low-accumulation crops and hyperaccumulator was reviewed. Finally， the paper put forward three suggestions， it should establish evaluation index based on the effectiveness of soil cadmium， and strengthen the screening of Cd low-accumulation crops， and improve the technology research related the intercropping between the Cd low-accumulation crops and hyperaccumulation plants.
