Abstract
To speed up Camellia oleifera production and breed suitable cultivation varieties of C. oleifera in north marginal distribution areas in south Henan province, by using principal component analysis method, the comprehensive performance of nine introduced Chang’ lin varieties based on the analysis of eight difference fruits traits was evaluted. The results showed that, eight fruit traits of Chang’ lin varieties all showed normal distribution, there was different degree of variation of all traits within species, variation coefficients of fruit production, fruit production per unit area were more than 48%, of fruit weight, fruit fresh seed weight were between 12% to 32%, other four traits had strong genetic stability. Except fruit production, other traits all presented differences among varieties. Nine varieties could be divide into several types depend on the differences of eight fruit traits, comprehensive evaluation displayed that No.53 as main cultivate species had the best performance and great variety selection potential, No.23, No.18, No.40, No.4 and No.3 had general performance, No.21, No.166 and No.27 had the worst performance.
