Fallow willingness of rural households in Poyang Lake main grain-producing areas and its influencing factors

Farmland fallow is one of the emerging institutions for protecting farmland，which is a useful measure of restoration of fertility，improving grain production capacity and resisting natural disasters. Through investigation of rural households’ fallow willingness in Poyang Lake main grain-producing areas，it was found that 48.54% of rural households had fallow willingness，and 51.46% of rural households thought the ecological compensation should be equal to gross product of fallow area. After analyzing the influencing factors of households’ fallow willingness by Logistic regression method，the results showed that non-farm income ratio had positive impact on fallow willingness and farmland quality had negative impact on it. Rural households’ age，educational level and labor force had no significant impact.
