    Research on spatial distribution of geographical indications in China and its influence factors

    • In order to understand the current development of geographical indications,taking the geographical indications announced by the State Administration for Industry and Commence,General Administration Quality Supervision,Inspection and Quarantine and the Ministry of Agriculture branches as the research objects,we empirically analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of geographical indications,discussed the factors influencing the distribution of geographical indications with the method of correlation analysis. The results show that geographical indications differ significantly in the distribution of the four regions of China,most of which are in eastern area while northeastern area the least. The number of geographical indications in different provinces varies widely in term of spatial distribution,and most of them belong to Shandong Province. Geographical indications such as tea products,livestock and aquatic products,handicrafts products,fruits and vegetables and flower products concentrate in the eastern region, while geographical indications category of wine products,food and medicine products concentrate in the western region. Fujian Province has the largest number of tea and flower products and Shandong Province has the largest number of livestock and aquatic products,handicrafts products and fruits and vegetables products among all the provinces. Meanwhile,Sichuan Province has the largest number of wine products,food and medicine products. After analyzing,the factors affecting the spatial distribution of geographical indications are mainly related to the level of social and economic development,population,natural environment,historical culture and policy.
