Cloning and bioinformatics analysis of catalase gene in upland rice

In order to study the sequence characteristics and biological information of CAT gene in upland rice， the CAT gene of upland rice of Luhan No.3 was cloned by homology cloning methord（OsCATB-lh，GenBank accession number：KR133179）. The cDNA length of OsCATB-lh was 1 739 bp，with an open reading frame of 1 479 bp encoding a polypeptide of 492 amino acids. OsCATB-lh was a single copy gene in rice genome onthe sixth chromosome . The protein encoded by OsCATB-lh dcontained a catalase family conserved domain. The high homology of cDNA（99%） with 6 single nucleotide polymorphisms（SNP）sites and protein（99%）with 3 amino acid mutation sites were found between OsCATB and OsCATB-lh.
