Development on a roots-soil separating test-bed for rhizome crops

    • Aiming at the key process of mechanical harvest for rhizome crops, a kind of test-bed employing the combination of compacting, hitting and vibrating method was developed. The study provided a foundation for the design and development of rhizome crops harvest machinery. Experiments employing different materials, such as liquorice (long rhizome crop), polygonum cuspidatum (block rhizome crop) and corn stubble (fibrous root crop), were performed. The results indicated that the test -bed could work steadily and reliably. Furthermore, the working parameters could be set according to different testing requirements, and the corresponding power consumption could be obtained
