Application of Geoserver-based WebGIS inmarine ranching sustainable management

This paper constructs a Geographic Information System（GIS）for marine ranching management，toprovide real-time surveillance service about the changes of environment and resources in marine ranching areas for thegovernors and scientists. We use Java programming language，GeoServer server and PostgreSQL9.3 database to constructa system which contains data management，data analysis，suitability evaluation and effect evaluation. The aim is to realizedata storage，data inquiry，thematic map analysis，site assessment，diversity analysis，ecosystem services valuation andenvironmental evaluation before and after construction using remote sensing technology. The system can provide servicesto the sustainable development of marine ranching.
