Application of GIS in typhoon disaster loss assessment in agriculture

GIS technology has functions of data storage, query, statistical analysis, simulation, decision making and prediction, and can rapidly collect and process meteorological information, directly analyze, demonstrate geographic information of disaster area and agricultural industry structure. Based on analyzing the links of GIS technology in the typhoon disaster in application and its key technologies, this paper established the evaluation system of agricultural losses by typhoon disaster based on GIS and virtual technology, realized the dynamic simulation of typhoon information display, agricultural loss assessment, to provide straightforward, scientific support for making the agricultural insurance policy, agricultural subsidy policy.
