Response difference of several sugarcane varieties to drought stress research in elongation stage

    • The aim was to study the response difference of six dominant Yunnan sugarcane varieties including ROC22, Mintang69-421, Guitang11, Yuetang86-368, Yuetang93-159, Dianzhe01-58 to drought stress. Using the method of greenhouse potted plants and artificial water control, drought stress was conducted to six sugarcane varieties in elongation stage, then morphological indexes including group of plant height, stem diameter, effective stem and physiological indexes including proline content, soluble sugar content, chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate of the tested varieties were surveyed. The results showed that the method of fuzzy membership function and system clustering analysis integrated all kinds of physiological indexes, was a more scientific resistance identification method for the comparison of multiple varieties. According to physiological indexes combined with morphological indicators, ROC22 and Yuetang86-368 were the varieties with high drought resistance, which were suitable for planting in Yunnan drought areas.
