Abstract
In order to provide theoretical basis and technical support for low carbon economic development of Guangdong province, the authors set up an evaluation index system of low carbon ecological land use from 5 aspects including land use, resource consumption, pollution control, economic development and social condition, and evaluated the low carbon ecological land use levels of 20 cities in Guangdong. Results showed that low carbon ecological land use levels of 20 cities were generally poor. Land use structure in Zhanjiang city met the requirements of low carbon. The high energy consumption production patterns in cities like Shaoguan and Qingyuan, and the high pollution production patterns in cities like Dongguan were not benefit for low carbon development. There were obvious differences in economic and social development levels among cities. Finally, aiming at the evaluation results some suggestions were proposed to optimize land use structure, optimize energy mix, reduce pollution and strengthen coordinated development among regions.
