Effects of initial bait casting time on growth and survival of Oxyeleotris marmorata larva

    • The effects of different initial bait casting time on growth and survival of artificial incubation Oxyeleotris marmorata larva was examined at 30 (±1)℃. The results indicated that, a small number of larvae began to open and feed after rupture in 2 days, the larva, within 3 days of age began to cast the bait, grew better than those in other groups. The initial feeding rate was 5.56%, the initial feeding rate of larva with 5 days of age was at the highest level, and the mixed nutrition period was for 3 days. The point of no return (PNR) of larva was shown on the time of 5.5-6 days after hatch and the daily mortality was the highest between 7 days and 8 days within all groups. The investigation demonstrated that the optimal initial bait casting time for O. marmorata larva was at 3 days of age.
