Abstract
The cold-resistant capacity and serum biochemical parameters of tilapia in two drug groups (coarse salt, coarse salt +baking soda) were studied in the outdoor natural low-temperature condition. The results showed that the tilapia relative protection ratio of coarse salt group reached 90%. At the same time, there were significant differences among the serum MDA, TP, GPT, GOT, TG and TCH of tilapia. What’s more, the levels of MDA, TP, GPT and GOT increased with the decrease of temperature, while the levels of TCH and TG decreased with the rising of temperature. The result indicated that adding coarse salt could improve the cold-resistant capacity of tilapia, and this result gave explanation of the coma and death of tilapia under low-temperature condition.
