Countermeasures for developing leisure agriculture in Hainan under the background of international tourism island construction

Construction of international tourism island requires continuous development of leisure agriculture in Hainan. In this paper, the current status and significance, advantages/disadvantages, chances and challenges of local leisure agriculture were analyzed to provide references for its better improvement. According to the tropical agricultural resources, ecological environments and folk cultures of Hainan province, a developing model is proposed, which divides the Island into five planning areas including North Hainan, South Hainan, East Hainan, West Hainan and Inter Hainan areas. This model also puts emphases on enhancing the grade and spirits of commercial products that launch better customer experience of native cultures and novo-technologies. Itemized strategies are provided on building investment and financing systems, formulating preferential policies, strengthening standardized management and improving the level of services.
