Optimization of hydraulic pressing Camellia seed oil by orthogonal experiment

    • On the basis of single-factor test, we optimized process conditions of extraction on Camellia oil from Nujiang Camellia seed, produced from Guizhou, by orthogonal experimental design. It was found that the optimum extraction conditions were rate of hull in kernel 7%, steaming for 5 min, pressing at 65℃for 23 min. Under those conditions, the extraction rate was 84.61%, the content of unsaturated fatty acid was 86.51%, and the peroxide value was below 2.11 mmol/kg, the crude oil color was light yellow with only few of any precipitation in the oil, and the content of Benzo (琢) pyrene was obviously lower than that produced by screw pressing.
