Effect of rice straw mulching combined with herbicide reduction on weeds in transplanted cowpea field

    • Experiments were conducted by combining the rice straw mulching with herbicides reduction to know their effect on weeds in transplanted cowpea field. The results showed that rice straw covering before cowpea seedlings were transplanted could inhibit 64.7% of the weed strains and 61.9% of fresh weight development. However, if the rice straw covering combined with a quarter of the commended dose of pendimethalin, it can reach better efficiency to the total weeds in field than that of acetachlor combined with rice straw covering, and the efficiency of volume of weeds and fresh weight were 88.7% and 83.9%, respectively. And the yield of cowpea increased by 320.0%.
