Research progress in leaf curing characteristics of high quality flue-cured tobacco

Tobacco curing not only determines the production, but also affects the cost-effectiveness of flue-cured tobacco and the aroma, style, color, and taste of tobacco leaves, plays a vital role in tobacco production. Tobacco curing characteristics are important impact factors on the tobacco curing. The concept, main influence factors of tobacco curing characteristics and the method to judge tobacco curing characteristics were introduced in this article. Research and findings in water loss characteristics, yellowing law and material transformation rules were reviewed. Authors also discussed the problem of the current judging methods. Future research on leaf curing characteristics of flue-cured tobacco was also proposed.
