Comparative study on the nutrient cycling in different strains of rubber plantation

    • The nutrient accumulation, biological cycle and soil nutrient balance of RRIM600 and RY7-33-97 rubber plantation ecosystem were studied. Results showed that the nutrient accumulation and return quantity in RY7-33 -97 rubber plantation were lower than thase in RRIM600, while, the nutrient absorption, retention and loss amount of rubber latex in RY7-33-97 were higher than those in RRIM600. The accumulation and circulation (absorption, retention, return and latex loss) of nutrient elements in rubber plantation ecosystem for two strains could be respectively ranked in the following order: K>P>N and N>K>P, in addition, RY7-33-97 had more nutrient consumption and greater circulation than RRIM600. These results indicate that the flux of nutrient cycling both in RRIM600 and RY7-33-97 rubber plantation ecosystem are gradually increasing with the increase of age, while the imbalance of nutrient in soil becomes more serious.
