Fertility characteristics and particulate organic carbon of different types of vegetation in Qiandongnan

    • Forest soil under different types of vegetation in Qiandongnan area was investigated in the study. Nutrient content and soil acidity of mixed forest soil samples from various types of vegetation (0~20 cm) were studied by methods of field investigation and indoor analysis. The results showed that, soil samples of four kinds of typical vegetation had strong acidity, pH value of them was 4.46-5.38. Soil organic matters of four types of vegetation showed broadleaf mixed forest (52.16 g/kg)> Chinese fir forest (50.16 g/kg) > mixed needle forest (40.07 g/kg) > Chinese red pine (30.61 g/kg); The horsetail pine had the lowest total nitrogen content (1.13 g/kg), and the broadleaf mixed forest had the highest total nitrogen content (2.31 g/kg); Total phosphorus and total nitrogen were shown as broadleaf mixed forest > mixed needle forest > Chinese fir forest > Chinese red pine; Total potassium in four types of vegetation was shown as broadleaf mixed forest (14.33 g/kg) > Chinese fir forest (12.30 g/kg)> Chinese red pine (11.35 g/kg) > mixed needle forest (10.5 g/kg); Particulate organic carbon in four types of vegetation was shown as Chinese red pine > mixed needle forest > broadleaf mixed forest> Chinese fir forest.
