Development situation and countermeasures of Guangdong waterfowl industry in 2013

In 2012, Guangdong waterfowl breeding were still mainly concentrate in the Pearl River Delta region (duck 46.2%, goose 51.5%, slightly lower than the proportion in 2011), but it showed a trend of migration to the west.. For example, Maoming爷s duck feeding quantity had surpassed Guangzhou爷s and ranked the first in Guangdong. Guangdong had taken various active measures to deal with the H7N9 flu and other events, but still failed to prevent waterfowl product prices to decline. In order to promote the further development of Guangdong waterfowl industry, we should focus on the following aspects:(1) to strengthen the supervision and support of government to waterfowl industry, construct waterfowl production information system; (2) to explore subsidy mechanism of waterfowl industry, promote waterfowl production insurance, risk fund and storage system; (3) to extend ecological culture mode, promote the transformation and upgrading of waterfowl breeding to modern mode; (4) to change the trade sales model of live poultry, speed up the cold chain infrastructure construction, encourage chilled poultry consumption;(5) to strengthen the economics study of waterfowl and related industries.
