    Diversity and conservation of amphibians in western Guangxi

    • A survey on amphibians diversity was carried out in western Guangxi from 2003 to 2013. Total of 51 amphibians species belonging to 23 genera, 8 families and 2 orders were recorded. Among them, 50 species belonged to the Oriental realm and 1 belonged to the widespread ones, with no species to the Palaearctic realm. The species with quantity dominance were Bufo melanostictus, Hylarana guentheri, Fejervarya limnocharis, Amplops ricketti, Polypedates megacephalus, Microhyla ornate, M. pulchra. Based on this survey, the status of amphibian resources was discussed and some conservation suggestions were proposed.
