Effect of drought stress and rewatering on physiological characteristics of Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd

    • Useing two varieties of poinsettia pot flower (Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd) as test materials, under the condition of drought stress and rewatering, the physiological characteristics of poinsettia, relative water content (RWC), relative conductivity, the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were measured, and the influence of drought stress was studied. The results showed that the drought stress caused the RWC, Fv/Fm to decrease obviously, and the relative conductivity, MDA, H2O2, Fo content increased obviously; After rewatering, RWC, Fv/Fm, MDA, H2O2, Fo recovered in different degrees. The indexes of poinsettia No.1 declined gently than No.2 during drought stress, and the drought resisting ability of each index was relatively obvious than variety No.2.
