Development situation and countermeasures of Guangdong sweet corn industry in 2013

In the year of 2012, Guangdong sweet corn continued a trend of rapid growth, the planting area accounted for more than 60% of the country, planting efficiency was also greatly improved compared to previous years, the regional distribution of production gradually tansferlated from the Pearl River Delta and Northern extension to the east and west wings, where the Western Guangdong gradually became the main producing areas. But there were several problems, such as deep processing of sweet corn was still low, preservation techniques and other issues needed to be further developed. On the basis of the development, recommendations to strengthen the advantages of regional development planning on technological innovation, to improve sweet corn technical support system, to strengthen the construction of processing and circulation system, to improve the level of industrial production, and to promote the sustainable development of sweet corn industry were put forward.
