Abstract
To investigate the effects of concentration of iron, calcium and magnesium on the growth and lipid accumulation of microalgal strain Desmodesmus sp. WC08, this research has tested the effects of 4 culture medium on the growth and lipid accumulation by single factor experiment. It implied that the optimal biomass (2.42 g/L) and lipid productive (0.58 g/L) were obtained in brine BG11, but the highest oil content (40.80%) was gained in F/2. Iron, magnesium and calcium concentrations tests showed that calcium concentration had the significant effect on the biomass of Desmodesmus sp. WC08, and minor effect was for iron concentration and magnesium concentration. At the same time, iron and calcium concentration had significant effects on the oil content, but magnesium concentration just had smaller influence on the oil content. Given lipid productive, the iron, magnesium and calcium all had significant impact. Brine BG11 medium was the optimal culture medium for the growth and oil accumulation of Desmodesmus sp. WC08. And the optimal iron, magnesium and calcium concentrations in brine BG11 culture medium were 2伊10-5, 0.09 and 0.05 mmol/L, respectively.
