Effects of different planting density and fertilizer ratio on maize yield in dry land from Guangxi

    • In this experiment, the effects of planting density, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium on the maize yield of new variety Guidan 591 were studied with orthogonal experiment by a quadratic, orthogonal and pivoting regression for four factors. The result showed that the influence of four factors on the maize yield of Guidan 591 was in order of nitrogen, planting density, potassium and phosphorus. To gain high yield, certain planting density, ample nitrogen were needed. The optimal agronomic conditions were described as follows: planting density was 57 750耀61 255 plants/hm2, applying pure nitrogen 185.44耀261.53 kg/hm2, P2O5 86.81耀122.20 kg/hm2, K2O 153.79耀222.21 kg/hm2, and then the high maize yield of above 8 250.00 kg/hm2 was obtained.
