In 2012, the cultivated area of sweet-potato ranked the 4th in the major crops and the yield ranked the 5th in the major crops in Guangdong, the yield of per unit area in 2012 reached its maximum level in recent 5 years. Further more, sweet-potato planting mainly distributed in western and eastern Guangdong. The cost and income of sweet-potato industry in 2012 was equal to that in 2011. The price forecasting of 2014 shows that the cost and income will stay rising. In the present, research on breeding, resources assessment and other aspects in Guangdong is propelling steady and the sweet-potato industry will have more development space in the following years.
