Abstract
To study the feasibility of tropical forage instead of Eupatorium odoratum L., a noxious invasive alien weed, this study selected an important protein feed in tropical and tropical regions in South Asia of China, Stylosanthes guianensis cv.Reyan as object. By the conventional water extraction, this study compared the testing of allelopathic effect between them, explored the mechanism of adaptation and competition of S. guianensis cv.Reyan against invasion from E. odoratum L., to supply scientific basis for effective controlling of exotic plant invasion. The result showed that the aqueous extracts from different parts of E. odoratum L. had different degree of inhibition on seed germination, root length and germinal length of S. guianensis cv.Reyan , the inhibition of leaves extract was the strongest. Comprehensive sense index (SEI) of aqueous extracts from roots, stems and leaves of E. odoratum L. with high concentration was -0.407, -0.369, - 0.493 respectively. The order of effect of E. odoratum L. aqueous extracts on seed germination and seedling growth of S. guianensis cv.Reyan was leaf stem root.
