Research progress on Phalaenopsis soft-rot disease

Soft-rot is the most common bacterial disease on Phalaenopsis. Because it is hard to control, and does serious harm to agriculture industry, people pay more attention to this disease. Compare to food crops, vegetable, fruit etc, research on Phalaenopsis soft-rot disease was much later, shallower and narrower. This article summarized the research advance on pathogen, pathogenic isolation, characterization, bacterial virulence proteins and secretion systems, response and resistance of Phalaenopsis against infection, for laying a theoretical foundation of research on Phalaenopsis soft-rot disease.
