Effect on physiological and biochemical indexes of rice seedlings under osmotic stress

    • This experiment stresses rice seedlings of Yixiang 481 and Huanghuazhan under 4 different concentrations of polyethylene glycols in 8 days, with 8 physiological and biochemical indexes of proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein, malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase and nitrate reductase were measured for 3 times. The results showed that, proline increased with the raising stress concentration and time, while the other 3 physiological indexes showed instability. Besides, of 4 biochemical indexes, the catalase increased with raising stress concentration while nitrate reductase decreased and the other 2 enzymes were instable, peroxidase decreased first then increased, while catalase increased first then decreased.
