Abstract
Nine 14-3-3 genes including five -type 14-3-3 gene, and four non-ε-type 14-3-3 family gene, were identified from the melon genome protein database which was based on conserved domains of 14-3-3 proteins as probe sequences in Arabidopsis. Phylogenetic analysis, numbers of intron analysis, alignment of sequence similarity was performed in 14-3-3 gene family in melon. The results of analysis of Unigenes matched with 14-3-3 proteins showed that 14-3-3 genes expressed in different tissues, part of genes specifically expressed with high abundance in fruit and flower, and different members of 14-3-3 gene family exhibited difference in patterns of expression. In conclusion, the results indicated that there were functional divergences in melon 14-3-3 gene family after gene duplication.
