Abstract
One hundred and eighty-six indica rice germplasms, which came from the Rice Germplasm Repository of Rice Research Institute, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, were used for the analysis of the trace elements Fe,Mn, Cu and Zn content in the seeds and their correlations. The results showed that the content of the trace elements in rice seeds was controlled by the genetic character of the genotype, and a significant difference existed among different genotypes. Comparing the contents of Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn in different types of varieties, no significant difference of Mn and Cu contents was observed between white rice and black rice, but the contents of Fe and Zn in black rice were significantly higher than that in white rice. The contents of Fe and Zn in black glutinous rice were significantly higher than that in white glutinous rice, but there was no significant difference between these two type rice in Mn and Cu content. Correlation analysis showed that the content of Zn in rice was significantly positively correlated to the contents of Fe and Cu. The correlation between the contents of Mn and Cu was positively significant, but it was not significant between the contents of Fe and Mn, or Fe and Cu, or Mn and Zn. It was significantly lower that the Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn content in polished rice than that in brown rice.
