Molecular cloning and sequence analysis of SMLII gene promoter of plant lectin in Salviae miltiorrhizae

To study the promoter region sequence of SMLII gene from Salviae miltiorrhizae, a 1023 bp promoter sequence of SMLII gene transcription factor was cloned （GenBank Accession No: KF193867）by using the chromosomal walking.Bioinformatical analysis of this sequence showed that it had some typical elements of a promoter, including, TATA-box, CAATbox, some relation to light elements from 5忆-regulation region and some unique upstream promoter element, like ABRE, ARE,ASF1MOTIFCAMV, HSE, IBOXCORE, WBOXATNPR1.
