Abstract
In order to understand the effects of trehalose on the growth of muskmelon seedlings, using foliar spraying treatment method, muskmelon seedlings was designed with different concentrations of trehalose on 0.6%NaCl solution under stress. The results showed that plant height, stem diameter, fresh weight, dry weight, leaf area and strong seedlings index of muskmelon seedlings were significantly decreased under 0.6%NaCl stress, while morphological indexes of muskmelon seedlings under salt stress were improved, with 0.4% concentration of trehalose treatment was the best. Trehalose had mitigative effect under NaCl stress on physiological and biochemical indexes of muskmelon seedlings. Compared with 0.6%NaCl stress, root activity and dissolved sugar content were increased, and MDA content and cell relative permeability were decreased using different concentrations of trehalose treatments, with 0.3%, 0.4% trehalose treatment had the best effect, effectively relieved the salt stress of muskmelon.
