Identification and phylogenetic analysis of the strain isolated from infected Platylomia pieli in Mopan mountain, Tianwang Town, Jiangsu province

Cordyceps cicadae is a rare traditional Chinese medicine, which have rich genetic diversity of strains isolated, different strains have different pharmacological effects and active compounds. Therefore, the identification of strains isolated is important. In this study, the strain isolated from infected platylomia pieli in Mopan mountain, Tianwang Town, Jiangsu province was identified by morphological characteristics, conidiogenus structure, ITS sequence and phylogenetic analysis. It is identified as the different geographic strains of Isaria cicadae. The results are important for expansion of the traditional Chinese medicine resources, and further study the pharmacological effects and active compounds of this strain.
