Study on construction of livestock and poultry germplasm resources library and information database in Guizhou

In this study, livestock and poultry blood reserve library was established preliminary through collecting, packaging and freezing 18 kinds of local livestock and poultry blood samples in Guizhou. DNA library was constructed by genomic DNA extraction of Guizhou local livestock breeds. Interactive data repository was built using information integration of genetic characteristics and varieties information. The purpose of this work was to guarantee for Guizhou livestock germplasm preservation, utilization and innovation, provide basic data for research and teaching units, and at the same time lay the foundation to promote the development of livestock and poultry germplasm resources in Guizhou.
