Definition, development and utilization prospect of near-isogenic line of CMS line

The definition of near-isogenic line of CMS line (NCMS line for short) was given. NCMS line was defined as the line which was identical with CMS line apart from only 1 pair of major fertility restoration gene for cytoplasmic male sterility. The ultimate purpose of development of NCMS line was to develop CMS line. The approaches to develop NCMS line and its breeding practice were introduced. NCMS line could be used to develop A(abortion) line, to improve near-isogenic line of CMS line and to accelerate the process of development of A line.
