Research prospect of urban plant selection in China

Accompanied by the socio-economic development of China and the improving living standard of people, especially the acceleration of urbanization in China, people will pay more attention to green space construction in city. The research of urban plant selection will play an important role. It can provide plant material for urban greenery, as well as bring aesthetic enjoyment for residents,improve urban environment, and prevent the risk for public health. However, the research of urban plant selection in China is still not systematic and prospective at present. In this review, a comprehensive evaluation on the research development of principle, content,method, and application of urban plant selection in China was conducted, the experiences from some developed countries were introduced,and some future research directions were suggested in terms of urban ecology.
