Grafting experiment of Liriodendron chinense clones

    • This grafting experiment based on 15 clones of Liriodendron chinense. The main results were showed as follows: (1) Compared to bud-grafting, cut-grafting had higher survival rate. The average survival rate of cut-grafting was 53.84%. And the average survival rate of bud-grafting was 43.83%. (2) There were significant differences between different clones in survival rate by two grafting methods. By cut-grafting, clone A19-8 and B15-2 had the highest survival rate, clone B11-7 had the lowest survival rate. By budgrafting, clone B17-3 had the highest survival rate, clone B10-12 and B11-6 had the lowest survival rate. (3) There was a significant difference between different clones in grafting material height. The highest seedling height was 43.250 cm, the lowest seedling height was 21.159 cm.
