Current situation，issue and policy recommendations on agricultural insurance of Guangdong province

Agricultural insurance has played an important role in protecting the agricultural production and helping famers with recovery of production rapidly since the pilot project launched in Guangdong province in 2007. But in the development of agricultural insurance, appears unreasonable factors such as extremely unevenly development in different areas, lower coverage and single variety of Agricultural insurance. Meanwhile, in the management of agricultural insurance, there are some problems like adverse selection, moral hazard seriously, difficulty of dealing with catastrophe, compensation caps of insurance, lower amount of compensation, protection level inadequately etc need special attention urgently. To analyze the current situation and the issue on agricultural insurance of Guangdong Province, drawing on the experience of the management all over the country, at last, putting forward related policy suggestions.
