Comparative study on total DNA extraction methods of mature needles of Pinus yunnanensis

Different extraction buffer (SDS, 4*CTAB and 2*CTAB) and preservation conditions (4℃ refrigeration, silica gel desiccant and room temperature storage) were compared in order to study the impacts of the total DNA extraction quality of mature needles of Pinus yunnanensis. The results showed that silica gel desiccant storage and 4*CTAB extraction buffer were suitable for the total DNA extraction of mature needles of P. yunnanensis. The results will afford a foundation for further research of P. yunnanensis in molecular biology.
