Field growth and decline law of rice gall midge and its prevention and control in Leizhou Peninsula

Rice gall midge is one of the primary pests of late rice varieties in Leizhou Peninsula. Except for overwintering insect source, climatic environment, rice cultivation conditions ,etc., natural enemies influenced a lot to field growth and decline of rice gall midge and its damage degree. Protecting natural enemies and controling rice gall midge were raised up as guiding ideology, with agricultural measures as the foundation, chemical control as the leading, biological and physical measures to supplement. In addition to pesticide seeds dressing prevention, chemical pesticide spraying should be paid adequate attention during late rice seedling stage and adult peak stage. And the preferred pestcide was Chlorantraniliprole.
