Study on the fresh-keeping of Banana with houttuynia extract

In this paper, fresh bananas were treated with extracts of houttuynia and stored at room temperatures for 2 weeks, and then weight loss，soluble solids content, respiration rate, hardness and relative conductivity were analyzed respectively. The results showed that the treatment could reduce respiratory intensity, loss of water and relative conductivity. And it could also retard the decrease of hardness and degradation of soluble soluble solids. In a word，houttuynia extract play a positive role on slowing down the aging process of bananas.
