Breeding of high-quality thick-peel melon varity Jinlu

A new thick-peel melon hybrid “Jinlu was breeded by selecting different-ecotype self-lines aiming to climate of high hummidty and temperature. It was suitable for planting in protected field of the South-China for good. Intergrated resistance and the fresh was orange and crisp with 14% brix ,with oblong fruit and gold net peel. The fruit weighed about 2.6 kg with 2 200~2 800 kg per 667 m2 in yield. The plant growed vigorous with 90% forming-fruit rate. In 2011, registing certificate was granted after it was evluated. The certificate number is Gui Registion(Fruit) 2011014.
