Research progress on the population structure of potato late blight pathogen（ Phytophthora infestans de Bary） in China

Research advance of population structure of potato late blight pathogen（ Phytophthora infestans de Bary） in China were reviewed，including mating type and its distribution，composition of physiological race and its variation tendency，the resistance of potato late blight pathogen to metalaxyl. In addition，the application and progress of molecular markers，such as mitochondrial DNA（ mtDNA），restriction fragment length polymorphisms （RFLP），simple sequence repeats（ SSR） of potato late blight pathogen，were discussed. The purpose of this review is to provide the reference for the further research on the potato late blight pathogen in China.
