    Evaluation of ecological situation in Dongguan City based on remote sensing

    • The quality of human life is closely related to the urban ecological situation. The research of evaluating ecological situation can provide reference for urban ecological construction and environmental protection. In order to understand and evaluate the ecological situation of Dongguan city in 2016,by using the Ecological index (EI) and Remote sensing ecological index( RSEI)based on the information source of Dongguan city’s Landsat 8 satellite image in 2016,with the support of remote sensing and GIS technology. The results showed that there was no significant difference between Ecological index(EI) method’s consequence and Remote sensing ecological index (RSEI) method’s. So the method of Remote sensing ecological index could effectively reflect the ecological situation of Dongguan city. Dongguan city’s RSEI index in 2016 was 0.584,its overall ecological environment was in good condition. The area of ecological conditions at moderate level was the large with a proportion of 54.35%. The area of good level was secondary with a proportion of 43.43%. The ecological situation was inequal in spatial distribution. The mountainous patch in the southeast region and hilly patch in south-central region were in better condition,compared with urban and water-rural areas.
