    Analysis of glandular hair and its secretions in different varieties of flue-cured tobacco

    • In this study, the density of glandular hair, secretions of glandular hair and the content of petroleum ether extract of flue-cured tobacco varieties such as Honghua Daikin, K326, Yunyan 87 and Yunyan 97 in Guizhou area were analyzed, and the differences among varieties were compared to select suitable flue-cured tobacco varieties in this area. The results showed that the density of glandular hair was K326 > Honghua Daikin > Yunyan 87 > Yunyan 97, the glandular hairy rate was the smallest in Yunyan 87, and the glandular hair fell off with the increase of tobacco maturity. The principal component analysis showed that the components of glandular hair secretions ranked Yunyan 87 > Yunyan 97 > K326 > Honghua Daikin; the content of petroleum ether extract ranked Yunyan 97 > Honghua Daikin > Yunyan 87 > K326, the increasing amount of petroleum ether extract of tobacco leaves with 95-110 days was Yunyan 97 > K326 > Yunyan 87 > Honghua Daikin in turn, and the content of petroleum ether extract increased with the increase of tobacco maturity, but the content of petroleum ether extract no longer increased after a certain degree of maturity. A comprehensive comparison showed that in Yunyan 87, the abscission rate of glandular hairs was relatively low, the content of petroleum ether extract was relatively high, and the content of glandular hair secretions was the highest, which was the suitable flue-cured tobacco variety for planting in Guizhou area.
