Distribution of seagrass resources of Eucheuma nature reserve of Hainan province and its protection suggestions

The seagrass resources distribution was discussed and some corresponding protection suggestions of Eucheuma nature reserve in Hainan were put forward，according to the survey data of nine investigation sample plots in Eucheuma nature reserve in Hainan，in 2008，2012，2015 and 2016，combined with the fixedpoint monitoring data in Gaolongwan，Changpigang and Longwan in 2013 to 2016. The results showed that， there were 2 families，3 subfamilies，6 genera and 8 kinds of seagrass in Eucheuma nature reserve in Hainan， with the common types of Thalassia hemprichii，Enhalus acoroides，Enhalus acoroides，Cymodocea rotunda and Halophila ovali. The average coverage，average density and average biomass was continues to decline in the sample in 2008 to 2014，and then increased in 2015 and 2016. Mainly factors influencing the health of seagrass reserve were rake screw，fishery production，coastal Hatang aquaculture，marine engineering，and natural disasters. We suggest that we should create more resources and reserves，continually develop and utilize，strengthen management and supervision of legal system，improve the public protection consciousness，etc. to make reserve seaweed resources protected.
