Investigation and analysis of organic potassium resources from straw and livestock manure in South China

The resources amount and its organic potassium（ K2O） of crop straw（ rice，corn，banana， sugarcane，peanut，potato，beans，vegetables and tobacco） and livestock manure（ pig，poultry，cattle，sheep， rabbit，cattle，cow and sow） in South China were investigated and analyzed based on various document literature. The results showed that the annual quantity of straw resources was 65 710 900 tons during 2008 to 2014 in South China areas，Guangxi，Guangdong and Hainan accounted for 61.59%，32.53% and 19.89%，respectively. The amount of potassium（ K2O） from crop straw was 859 500 tons，Guangxi，Guangdong and Hainan accounted for 48.56%， 43.65% and 7.78%，respectively. The annual average quantity of livestock manure was up to 196 451 600 tons during 2010 to 2014 in South China areas，Guangxi，Guangdong and Hainan accounted for 55.42%，36.76% and 7.82%， respectively. The amount of organic potassium（ K2O） from livestock manure was 652 800 tons，Guangxi，Guangdong and Hainan accounted for 52.60%，39.32% and 8.07%，respectively. There is a lot of organic potassium resources in South China，which has a good prospect of exploitation and utilization.
