Abstract
A simulated wetland system was set up in a greenhouse, the growth traits and physiological characteristics of Spartina alterniflora under different salinity( 10‰,20‰ and 30‰) were compared to study the adaptability of S. alterniflora to salt leaching environment. Results showed that there were significant differences from different salinity treatments with plant height, basal stem, leaf SPAD,chlorophyll content, nitrogen content and mortality of S. alterniflora. With the increase of salt concentration, plant height and stem decreased, leaf of S. alterniflora increased, leaf chlorophyll content and SPAD increased. The highest salinity( 30‰) significantly decreased the dry weight biomass of S. alterniflora. The survival rate of S. alterniflora was 55.16% in salinity 20‰, and the survival rate of S. alterniflora was the lowest( 43.22%) in salinity 30‰. S. alterniflora had a relatively high adaptability to salinity, but high salinity had certain restrictions to the plant growth.
