Development situation and countermeasures on Guangdong flower industry in the first half of 2016

Weak ornamental nursery stock market downturn in the first half of 2016, high-quality small potted remained wowed customers. Meanwhile, with obvious seasonal characteristics, cut flowers price was slightly less than last year. In the next phase, flower industry has three important features: ornamental nursery stock industry restructuring, swift growth of personal and household consumption, rapid development of electronic commerce. At present, the flower industry in Guangdong has to face such issues as increasingly severe market competition, halfbeaked of industry chain, backward breeding and not sound socialization service system. According to the present situation of flower industry, this paper proposed suggestions as following: accelerating industrial and products restructuring, developing specialized production, promoting variety innovation ability, vigorously developing e-commerce, improving the professional logistics system, establishing data platform and strengthening cultural promotion.
