Comparative study on the effects of bagging on fruit quality of‘ Yueyinzaocuili’ pear cultivar

    • In order to improve the cultivation performance of sand pear(Pyrus pyrifolia)in Guangdong Province,10 types of bags were chosen to study the effects of bagging on fruit quality of‘ Yueyinzaocuili’ pear,an early-maturing sand pear cultivar widely planted in Guangdong Province. The result indicated that the peel color, smoothness of fruit surface, quantity of fruit dot and size of fruit russet could be significantly improved by fruit bagging, but the single fruit weight and edible part of bagged fruit decreased by 12.70% and 14.21% on average, respectively. In contrast to control, the total soluble solids content and total soluble sugars content were evidently affected by fruit bagging, deceased by 2.49%-14.66% and 2.17%-16.72%,respectively. However, the titratable acid content, vitamin C content and the fruit hardness raised after bagging, which increased by 0.35%-21.06%, 3.25%-42.52%,and 1.47%-14.11%,respectively. According to comparison, the double layer bag with yellow inner and black-inner yellow-outer outer(D-2)was the best choice. The study provided an important basis for the application of fruit bagging technology on the cultivation of‘ Yueyinzaocuili’ pear in Guangdong Province.
